I was surprised by the injury websites I found in Atlanta.  The first five pages of results for “Atlanta Personal Injury Attorney” were filled with dated and uninspiring designs.  I found 21 Justia websites and 10 Scorpion sites that were marketing personal injury in Atlanta, meaning they showed up in the first 30 pages of results or had pages with an injury/Atlanta title tag.  Justia is a great company for visibility but they will never win a design award, as most follow a similar basic template design.   I am also amazed that attorneys could expect great results when your SEO provider works with so many of your direct competitors.  These firms seem to divvy out the home page title tags, so each firm has a chance of ranking for something.   For example some will have Atlanta Injury Lawyer, another “Atlanta Car Accident Lawyer” etc…    Finally I was surprised to see two national PI firms (interlopers!) rank on the first page.  Something needs to be done about this!  That wouldn’t happen in Birmingham!

1) Sutton Slover *(NEW 12/26)

New ‘design only’ site released by iLawyermarketing in Nov 2014.  Very modern scrolling design that also features a slick responsive design for mobile devices.

A very nice modern design, with a good mix of custom photography and conceptual images in the slider.   Unfortunately the site is completely invisible – not even showing up in the first 30 pages of Google for their primary search phrase.  Ouch.  Based on the link profile of this URL, I highly doubt that it will ever rank in the Google search results.

From a purely design perspective, this is a great looking site   It uses a modern scrolling page layout and contains some cool interactive design elements and video.  The problem is that I had to go to the 5th page of Google results to find it.

Of the ten personal injury sites from Scorpion in Atlanta, this is the only one on the first page for “Atlanta Personal Injury Attorney” (maps only).   Like most Scorpion sites its extremely clean and professional looking.

Honorable Mention

http://www.butlerwooten.com  Several years ago this was the class of Atlanta and Georgia PI sites.  Today the site design, with its narrower screen size, is a bit dated now.   The bigger issue is that the site has tumbled in the rankings thanks to the many Penguin updates.   The site was once one of the more visible PI sites in Atlanta, yet today I found it on the 9th page

http://www.callneil.com  This colorful  design definitely stands out from a design standpoint.   While unique, I would never recommend this type of design to a personal injury lawyer.   It clearly does not convey experience, results or professionalism – the feedback we hear the most in our design focus groups.  Not that it would matter if you are found on the 15th page like this site is.
http://www.andrewgoldner.com   really nice effort from local Atlanta web design firm Heystac.  Simple and clean design.  Incorporates a unique moving image above the fold which is a nice touch.
