Today I am profiling the legal websites in the Sooner State. The State features some very nice sites. Oklahoma is the home of the legal website design company Lawyer Marketing USA. The company is based in Tulsa and was started by a former FindLaw sales rep and political candidate, Kevin McDugle. The company has a very large presence in Oklahoma, with at least 20 sites in Oklahoma. Lawyer Marketing USA advertises themselves as a cheaper alternative to FindLaw and based on their customer base, they seem to target FindLaw clients. Like many SEO companies in the pre-Penguin World, they employed a task driven SEO strategy in which they would do x amount of BLOG posts, links and directory submissions every month. While this approach may show effort to a client – it is exactly the type of systematic low quality SEO that Penguin crushed. In April 2014 they announced a major change in how they would approach SEO on their BLOG. While they are now saying the right things, we will see if it translates into great rankings. I recently wrote about things you need to look for in an SEO company and one of the keys is seeing proven and consistent ranking performance in competitive metros/practice areas. I am not seeing that yet with Lawyer Marketing USA, not even in Tulsa or Oklahoma City. On a positive note, the firm has vastly improved their designs in the last year. This site is very cool. The Intellectual property site directs you to 4 distinct areas – with each explaining the importance of IP and their unique approach. An elegantly simple design with some fantastic interactive features.

Great looking design from local Oklahoma designer Back40 Design. Uses parallax scrolling and nice custom photos of the firm. Disappointing mobile version though.
#3 Burch George Germany
Great looking personal injury design from Consult Webs.
#4 Riggs Abney
One of the largest firms in Oklahoma has a very impressive website. Home page image changes upon refresh – with skyline images from their 3 office locations; Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Denver.
#5 Rehl Law Firm
A very nice site from Lawyer Marketing USA. Move the cursor on any of the practice area, and a more detailed navigation window pops open.
