Senate Bill 1281 - Anti Deficiency Law

I have gotten quite a reaction from my recent post on the new proposed law change - ARS 1281. The memo was actually written by Arizona real estate attorney, Marc McCain. Mark has sent the memo to various Arizona law makers and I hope his well written memo has its desired effect.

In response to my post I have also heard from a number of Arizona bankruptcy attorneys. Their responses have been revealing. One dryly called the new law "My Retirement"! given the expected rush of new bankruptcy fillings that will happen if this law passes. More than anything that type of response should give Arizona lawmakers pause before passing this ill considered bill.

Sanders & Parks in the Community

Rosie's House

Attorneys and staff from Sanders & Parks recently took part in the 4th Annual Bowling Shootout in support of Rosie’s House: A Music Academy for Children. I have attached a few photos from the event. Congratulations to the teams from Sanders & Parks for taking the 1st & 2nd Place Trophies!

Rosie’s House is a charity that believes that music education is a catalyst for changing the lives of our valley’s most needy children. Through music education they teach our students life skills – including discipline, confidence, goal-setting and creative thinking – all skills necessary to be successful in life!

Blind and Deaf Children's Foundation

Following a three-year tradition, Sanders & Parks also sponsored a foursome at the Arizona Blind and Deaf Children's Foundation annual Swing for Success golf tournament at the Raven South Mountain. Established in 2002, the Foundation fulfills its mission of investing in the future of Arizona's 4,000-plus blind, deaf, low-vision, and hard-of-hearing children by supporting programs at Arizona Schools for the Deaf and Blind. Today, the Foundation is committed to ensuring that all of the blind and deaf children throughout the state have access to experiential learning in key areas that encompass, and expand upon, traditional education. By focusing on these areas, including the fit for life, success for life, art for life, and literacy for life programs, the Foundation aims to prepare the young people it serves to be self-sufficient, contributing members of society.
