Attorneys on Craigslist

I am often asked whether its a good idea for an attorney to post an ad on Craigslist.org The answer is absolutely - if you have the time.

Craigslist.org is one of the most visited websites in the World, getting over 9 billion page views a month. For no cost at all you can post a free ad under Phoenix Legal services. If you do post an ad, its a good idea to add a live link to your website within the craigslist ad. You can do this by typing the following script in the body of your ad;

The resultant link would look like this;

Phoenix Legal Marketing CLICK HERE

Just replace the web address with yours. You can put any phrase in place of "Phoenix legal marketing", some may choose to just retype the web address. *While Craigslist is a free way to drive qualified traffic to your site, posting an ad will not help your organic ranking. This is because all Craigslist links are blocked from passing on any link value. *special thanks to Jim Ray and Brian Vogel who both provided me with information on this subject.

Did You Know???
Craiglist founder Craig Newmark started the service in 1993 as a series of emails, sent to friends, about local events in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I would suggest that lawyers submit to all local type directories such as Craig's List. Another great one is Yelp.
